Hello.
Here's some pics of my homebuilt Riga/ D8 racing bike.
In Estonia there's a whole racing leaque of similar bikes, the engine block and cylinder has to be from "D" type, but can be freely altered. Typical bike has reed valve intake, highly tuned water cooled cylinder, PVL ignition and lot's of custom made racing parts inside.

To make it more fun, I think Latvians and Lituhanians (and why not Russians) could participate in this class too...and organizing races Those engines are still cheap and easy to get.
Currently the rules are like this:
Standard class - engine must be D4, D5, D6, D8 and factory modifications of these
- Factory engine case, cylinder, and cylinder head
- Tuning: inside tuning allowed (except rising cylinder capacity)
- Carburator: must come from factory engine
- Exhaust: free
- Ignition: must come from factory engine
- Transmission: free, fixed ratio
- Racing number plate with dimensions ca. 200x200mm
- Brakes: the bike has to have at least one working brake
- Pedals: allowed
- Rider has to wear a helmet.
Open class: engine must be D4, D5, D6, D8 and factory modifications of these
Factory engine case, cylinder and cylinder head, using factory watercooled cylinder allowed.
- Tuning: free, except rising cylinder capacity
- Carburator: free
- Exhaust: free
- Ignition: free
- Transmission: free, fixed ratio
- Racing number plate with dimensions ca. 200x200mm
- Brakes: the bike has to have at least one working brake
- Pedals: allowed
- Rider has to wear a helmet.
-aizdedze: jābūt no oriģinālā motora
-transmisija: pēc izvēles, noteikta proporcija, attiecība
-sacīkšu numura pamata plāksne 200x200mm
-bremzes: vajadzētu būt vismaz vienām strādājošām bremzēm
-pedāļi: atļauti
-vadītājam jāvalkā ķivere
Atvērtā klase: motoram jābūt D4, D5, D6, D8 un ražotāja modifikācijām tajos
Ražotāja motora bloks, cilindrs un cilindra galva, atļauts lietot ūdens dzesēšanas cilindru
-Uzlabojumi: pēc izvēles
-karburators: pēc izvēles
-Aizdedze: pēc izvēles
-transmisija: pēc izvēles, noteikta proporcija
-sacīkšu numura pamatne 200x200mm
-bremzes: arī vismaz vienas strādājošas
-Pedāļi: atļauti
-jāvalkā ķivere
Junioru klase tāda pati kā atvērtā.
P.S. tulkoju ar savām 9. klases zināšanām, ceru ka noderēs
D racing in Rapla kartingtrack.
21.5.2005.
Funny, machines seem to be quite slow, compared to now.
Machine(the blue one),that won that race, was from class "original"!
No reedvalve,aircooled,original carburetor and ignition.
